Description

The Pucará de Tilcara is an imposing archaeological site immersed in the Quebrada de Humahuaca. The environment is marked by a wild and rustic setting, surrounded by giant cardon cacti, situated on an 80-meter-high hill.

It is constantly highlighted for its very particular and silent energy when walking along its trails at over 2400 meters of altitude, making it an ideal site for connecting with nature and ancestral culture.

  • Tour the place unhurriedly and always respect the marked trails to preserve the ruins.
  • Wear very comfortable and closed shoes, as you will be walking uphill on dirt and rocks.
  • Protect yourself from the Andean sun with a hat and sunscreen, and stay hydrated by bringing plenty of water.
  • Never climb on the walls or roofs; they are unstable reconstructions of heritage value.
